Fantzy Free: Scene is Back!

At Fantzy Free, we believe in freedom of expression, no matter how colorful, edgy, or excessive your style is. In fact, we celebrate those qualities! Which is why it brings us great pleasure to report that scene culture is back in a big, big way!

If you don’t remember the scene craze from the mid-90s to the mid-00s, let us fill you in. Scene culture was a movement founded alongside the emo, goth, and punk movements,  and their values are mostly the same– anger at authority, a rejection of traditional gender roles, and an embracing of people from all walks of life. However, while punk celebrated thrifted and grunch fashion, and emo and goth went for all-black outfits, scene went the opposite direction, and embraced the rainbow. It was common to see scene kids with rainbow dyed hair, in plaid skirts and corset tops, jamming out to 3OH!3, Metro Station, and Cobra Starship.

Fantzy Free is thrilled that scene culture is coming back, thanks to communities on TikTok and Tumblr. We plan on offering a variety of products in order to help you rediscover your edgy side. So kick on some platforms, turn up the All Time Low, and be a little more Fantzy Free.
